The Survivors of Lemuria
Approximately two thousand years ago the Lemurian archipelago was highlands surrounding a vast fertile lowland. As an unintended consequence of powerful magic unleashed during a brutal civil war, the lowlands sank beneath the sea, leaving only the few beings who were located on the high ground or aboard ships which survived the cataclysm to rebuild a civilization in what now appears to be a large archipelago of islands. Civilization now exists in a number of villages and small cities scattered along the islands’ coasts, but it is under threat from evil creatures both aquatic and terrestrial, along with seagoing pirates and some even darker, nastier beings.
This is an Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st edition campaign with several house rules surrounding character classes and combat. All standard AD&D races are allowed, along with one other one native to the campaign. As the adventurers are struggling against evil, they are required to be non-evil in alignment (no Assassins allowed). As a further wrinkle, the only horses in existence are draft horses only (so no Cavaliers allowed).
